Call for Submarine Submissions

I've started working on a new children's book, and it is all about the sea. I don't want to give it away, so all I'll say is that it is an adventure set under water. It is partly inspired by the story of Jacques-Yves Cousteau and his friends inventing and experimenting with the first "aqualung" in his 1953 book, The Silent World. Below is a colour plate I scanned from the book. This is one of the first colour photographs taken in the deep and they called the technology Extochrome, using "scientific colour correction". You have to love the romantic minds of the French!

Like J.Y. Cousteau, I am enchanted by the ocean and any body of water in general. I'm always looking for an excuse to jump into it and see what is going on below the surface. If anybody out there has their own fish tales or swimming stories to share, I'd love to hear them. Maybe they will find their way into my book. If you feel like sharing, please email me at bret@hydeslovelies.com. Thanks!
